Tulbagh Olive industry
Olives have been around for thousands of years and certainly in the warmer European countries with a mild Mediterranean climate such as in the Boland where the wild olive tree is abundant.

About 10 years ago, an Italian farmer bought the farm De Heuwel between Tulbagh and Wolseley and planted the first olives in the valley. Today olives and olive products are becoming an important component of the local economy.

Consult the list below to contact the producer direct. Those farmers/businesses that have both pictorial and textual information about what they offer, have highlighted links in the left column.

Our olive oil is locally pressed and we sell our olive oil both from the farm and locally. In 2009 it won a silver award from SA olive. Our mission olives are cured on the farm and are also for sale.
