John Veschini of the VIP - Voice of Independents Party commends the Witzenberg Municipal Manager and his administration. </B>From what the Councillor has observed, the administration has adaquately qualified and dilligent management.<B> </B></div> <bR> <div> The Municipal Manager</div> <div> Witzenberg Municipality</div> <bR> <div> Dear Municipal Manager,</div> <bR> <div> I wish to convey to you and your administration, my feelings as an elected Public Representative and a Councillor, that I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with you and your team today.  I saw a dedicated and enlightened group of people who do have their interests of the Witzenberg Municipality at heart and also the interests of the public (who are essentially paying their salaries) at heart too. I experienced a sense of appreciation for all the role players. Maybe we are becoming a unique Municipality? </div> <bR> <div> I do appreciate that the first thing a politician would do would to be inclined to mistrust. That is possibly in the nature of politicians? I was disappointed that there were not more of the Politicians/Councillors in attendance, for they may have learned something about what goes on behind the scenes? Yes, there still remains a little arrogance and a forgetfulness as to how important the rate paying and services paying public are in the scheme of things? But, I wish to give you and your administration the benefit of the doubt. I will and through circumstances not forget that I am a politician and I will play my own `oversight role' but I do appreciate what I witnessed today.  I shall have a more open mind for now?</div> <bR> <div> Keep up the good work and thank you and your administration for a wonderful example of enthusiasm and dedication. I am just sorry I have to attend a mundane Councillor Induction workshop tomorrow whilst I could learn more from the ground up - free of politics for change? </div> <bR> <div> I would be most pleased if you could kindly convey my sentiments to all your Directors and Managers and all the staff - (not excluding the gentleman who made all the presentations work - IT wise).   </div> <bR> <div> Yes, politics and politicians are sometimes a negative influence in the process but please convey to your administration that we all have a role to play and we are all accountable to the public at the end of the day. If the politicians affect your administration's ability to perform, let me know or let them know. Do not hesitate to do this, as it affects all of us.</div> <bR> <div> Kindly forward to me an electronic copy of the Witzenberg Waste management plan, as well as annexure A, B and C of the ASLA contract as you promised to do?</div> <bR> <div> I am very enthusiastic in respect of the way forward to 2014 or whatever.  But, please remember that I am here - for now, a politician and, as such, I will expose anything that my Party and I may consider to not be in the interests of the community.</div> <bR> <div> I also would like to believe that my fellow Councillors - from whatever political persuasions, will also agree with me, that this is the time to get the job done and forget about Party Politics and power playing at Local Government level for now?  We must be a team for all - the WHOLE community.</div> <bR> <div> This communication will be posted on the <A HREF="http://www.tulbagh.net" TARGET="_top" TITLE="http://www.tulbagh.net"><U>www.tulbagh.net</U></A> website.</div> <bR> <div> Kind regards,</div> <bR> <div> Clr.
